#Share2Give: Global Social Media Charity Campaign Includes CancerForward

In August 2012, billionaires Laura and John Arnold through The Laura and John Arnold Foundation (LJAF) launched the Giving Library, an innovative online platform dedicated to providing information about selected non-profit organizations through easily digestible video formats. Prospective donors who use the Giving Library are able to easily locate, study, and engage with organizations that fit their giving criteria. What would have taken months or even years of meetings and travel can now be done in a matter of days, from anywhere. LJAF dubs it “the new way to give,” and we agree.

Key features of the Giving Library are: Card Catalog, that helps donors find a nonprofit that matches their unique interests; Leaderboard, that displays how donor dollars are making a difference; and, Library Card, that provides a mechanism for donors to donate, receive customized recommendations and connect with their favorite nonprofits.

As of this month, 850 global nonprofits – including CancerForward: The Foundation For Cancer Survivors — have been invited to participate in Giving Library. And, this month marks the site’s inaugural Share to Give campaign (#Share2Give) in which supporters circulate official Giving Library info videos about nonprofits involved in everything from education and the environment to medical research, global humanitarian aid…and help for cancer survivors.

The Arnolds have set aside up to $100,000 for this season’s social media effort, gifting $5 donation to each charitable group every time the group’s video is posted to Facebook or tweeted on Twitter. Participants themselves are not required to donate to ring up contributions for their favorite charity . . . just to share.

With an investment of only five minutes between now and December 31, you can help CancerForward generate vital year-end dollars by following these three easy steps:

(1) Click on this link: http://www.givinglibrary.org/organizations/CancerForward
(2) create an account on The Giving Library…which costs you nothing.
(3) once there, share the CancerForward page on Facebook or Twitter. That’s it!

Only shares you make from the Giving Library will generate the $5 donation.

We also urge you to watch the 11-point video about CancerForward on the Giving Library. The LJAF has done an excellent job of collecting information all donors want to know about the organizations they’re supporting.

From all of us at CancerForward, thank you for your engagement and support that keep our programs relevant to cancer survivorship planning. We wish you a happy holiday season and a healthy and prosperous new year.
